A true powerful red boar! This guy is stout from his skull to his tail head. We’ve been excited about this guy since the day we purchased him from Yantis as a pig. Watching this guy grow has been refreshing to see one pound feed, develop muscle, mature with BIG, clean BONES and do so with the look of a winning show pig. As he grew up it became real easy to name him, OLD FASHION. He has that old school stout, stout skull, forearm and blade you’d expect from his sire, 305. Yet, when he’s out and on the move he is elevated at his blade, clean about his pole, has an enormous amount of muscle, and simply as smooth in his build as a good glass of whiskey, therefore OLD FASHION was an easy identity. I can’t help but believe Brandon knew exactly what he was doing when making this mating. Not only do I think Yantis is one of the great minds in the business, his ability to make good stock has been proving times over, with doing so with multiple breeds. He says the WORK of ART sow is special and offers tons of power and density. Plus, we all are aware of the genetic value found for generations coming from 305 side. We are really happy with the first pigs sired by OLD FASHION and expect to only continue to hear great things. This boar has been utilized by some very progressive Duroc breeders and mated to many of their key females. We will continue to build better, tougher Duroc females and show barrows with this guy at SAVAGE.  We welcome you to put him in some of your best!
